Dr. Jason Chan

ABOUT DR. JASON CHAN

Dr. Jason Chan earned his Honours Bachelor of Science and graduated on the Dean’s Honour List with a Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo. Dr. Chan completed a clinical externship at the Lexington Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky where he gained experience in diagnosing and managing ocular diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, glaucoma, and dry eye syndrome.

Dr. Chan accepts patients as young as 6 months old. In addition to his special interest in ocular diseases, Dr. Chan regularly pursues further extensive training in areas such as vision therapy and rehabilitation, sports performance vision, and myopia management in order to stay up to date with the latest research.

Dr. Chan is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development. This designation is only gained through extensive experience in diagnosing and managing vision therapy patients, maintaining continuing education in the field through practical teachings and hands-on vision therapy techniques, and successfully completing oral and written examinations.

Dr. Chan has been involved in volunteering as well as organizing and leading mission trips to Nicaragua and Honduras where he provided eye examinations and glasses to patients in remote villages with limited or no access to eye care.

Dr. Chan is an active member of the Canadian Optometric Association, the College of Optometrists in Vision and Developent, Vision Therapy Canada, and the Ontario Association of Optometrists.
